"If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it. "
                                                                            --John Kennell, MD

Welcome! I am a doula, a woman who serves laboring women and their families. Studies have shown that, on average, mothers with doulas are more satisfied with their births, tend to have shorter births, use less interventions, have less c-sections, can breastfeed easier, and have less problems with postpartum depression. As a doula, I am commited to educating, supporting and encouraging my clients during labor, delivery and first few hours of birth. I want to offer a safe environment and be a constant presence, which are some of the essential ingredients to having a positive birth experience.

Doulas do not interfere with the role that the father plays, but rather complements it. When fathers don’t feel the pressure to be the primary support person, they can relax and enjoy the birth of their baby. And if they’re relaxed, they can be a better support for the woman they love!

It would be an honor to attend your baby's birth!
